Trappers: Where is a good place to get animal skulls? (for art)

ebay has everything you're looking for and they are bleached and cheap

Pretty much not allowed without permits from what I was told. I'm not a genius on the subject but I had a conversation with a customs officer a couple of years ago and from what I understand it's about as easy as bringing ammo out of the States. The legal way, not the illegal way that everyone seems to think is ok.

Exactly what I thought, and probably why they won't ship to Canada. paperwork/export regs.

/(and I'll probably find the porcupine I want! I saw a freshly hit one just the other day, like... hit a few cars ahead of me.. but I felt weird stopping and hacking the head off!)

I bet no one would pull over and try to stop you. They would probably speed up.

I've also heard of people buying "beetle kits" on ebay, little black beetles that eat flesh, apparently much more effective than maggots!

Flesh eating beetles are a lot of work. It takes a lot of beetles and they won't eat flesh unless conditions are right
Maggots are free fast and easy. They don't ruin th sinuses or shrink the skull

I own a taxidermy company and am also a trapper. Yes we keep our skulls for the most part, but as part of my business I do sell processed skulls. Cheap is a relative term. Want cheap go out and hunt or trap the critter, skin it, go through the cleaning process and whitening process and voila you have yourself a cheap skull. Now if you would like to buy a skull let me know. We offer skulls at very fair market value and ship world wide dependent on species and cites permits required.

I'd be interested in hearing what you have available...

There seems to be a shortage of dead animals in my area... They must have figured out how to use crosswalks, those clever critters...

Trust me, the critters are way ahead of you.

Also, if you want to spend the least amount of money and have the available time, just bury the skulls and come back in several months.
