I currently live in Vancouver but my folks live about two hours away on the Sunshine Coast - there is a great new indoor range there and I think I may become a member of the club just to use it when I go home to visit which is a couple times a year. My question is - would I need to get a STATT to go up there with my restricted or would my blanket LTATT work? I would be staying over night at their place so technically the place of storage would change for those one or two nights.

I thought this would be a common scenario but wasn't able to find anything on the forum. Thanks for your input in advance!

I would like to know if I'm allowed to take my handgun camping with me close to my range so I can camp and shoot over a whole weekend. The campground is not part of the range though.

"...LTATT should cover anywhere in the province..." Yep and it should say right on it where it's good for. Mom's house will be the same as a hotel room. You're not storing it there. You're just passing through. Think 'unattended vehicle' rules, as daft as it sounds.
"...camping with me close to my range..." Your club so far away that you need to camp overnight? Think hunting regs and 'unattended vehicle' rules. The camp ground may have its own rules too though. I'd be inclined to not mention what property you have with you. Isn't the camp ground operator's business.

I'm just thinking that my range which ya is about 30 minutes away from me is in camping country next to a lake and provincial campground. Could I take the family camping and sneak away to do some shooting each day that I camp over a long weekend. Range is less than 5minutes away or do I need to go to range and back home only. Its kinda like I'm staying at the range for the weekend just not on their property.
