Hi guys,,I'm heading to New Brunswick from Calgary for 3 months this summer and would like to bring my handgun with me to compete in some local matches.

I have an ATT for Alberta but am wondering how I go about getting permission to bring restrictied firearms with me,since I'm not a member of any club down there and am not exactly sure which matches I will be attending down there.

Am I better of mailing it ?

Thanks,,,Steve

I just applied for ATT to shoot nationals in Nova Scotia. This is the email to request ATT - cfpcfounit@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
Information required from me;
1) PAL#
2) Firearm registration certificate
3) Invitation letter (email) from club (you may need to contact a club there to ensure guests are allowed and get an email invite
4) address where I am staying
5) airport I am departing and arriving at
6) length of stay
CFO may need more info in your situation

I usually fax my application, including everything that is relevant, including event invitation(s), hotel reservation(s), and a cover letter. The firearms officer will want to know the route, the dates, and the estimated times; include that in the cover letter.

After it's sent, I telephone to confirm that it has been received. If the officer wants any additional documents, she/he can tell you that then.

P.S.: Don't wait until the last minute; submit your application as soon as possible.
