I''ve seen a wide difference in the wood stocks of the Norinco copies. Is that pretty much par for the course with these?

Some look downright plastic. No grain whatsoever. Others? Beautiful.

from what I have gathered Norinco doesnt make these anymore, and marstar has been sold out for 3 years. I sent them an email asking if they could/would ever get more...no reply.

I heard these are no longer in production...period.

They pop up once in a while on the EE, snatch em if you can.

Not to rub it in, but I absolutely ADORE the 1897 trench gun platform. Much more than I ever loved any configurations of 870 I ever owned.

Yeapers, got mine and all the other bits/pieces from Numrich stateside.

Got a model 12 that is gonna be transformed into a proper trench

However, there was some model 12 and 97 wood in the EE just recently too.

Likely cheaper than going the Stateside route.

no luck anywhere it seems. however, i do notice in the US that IAC is still selling the norinco made trench guns.

i guess i could get someone to import it for me
