Went out to my turkey property today with my golden retriever for a looksee and what do I find  Some has been kind enough to dismantle my small little blind which only covered up to your waist and allowed for 360 degress of shooting made of old dead fall maple limbs. They not only dismantled it but had the nerve to build their own very large blind ..oh say the size of a duck blind infront of where mine was on the feild edge. They are obviously a group of two because there is another one built ony 50 yards away from where mine stood. I'll be out opening morning very early with the landowner and the Halton Region police to press charges against this group of idiots. Let this be a reminder to those who are new to hunting....respect the PRIVATE property of others and obtain written permission to hunt. Can't wait to see the look in their faces when the cops address the issue:onCrack:

It would be nice if the law caught those Ass Clowns with their guns loaded before legal shoot, just to add to the charges. Good luck with the Sting.

If you get to the location before them, fire up the video and sound recorder in their blind, as well as record them leaving their vehicles. You should catch one of them sliding a shell in before legal to do so.

Did you find the trail they used to access the site? It'd be a lot of fun to sit by the side of the trail and watch them wander past.

The SAME thing happened to me a couple years ago but at least you were fortunate enough to discover this before opening day (except duck hunting instead of turkey). I had permission to hunt a certain area of PRIVATE property and had a blind and everything built. Showed up about 6am and couldnt find my blind anywhere...frig'n thing had been torn down along with my sign up that said that I was hunting there under permission from land owner. I had to quickly find another spot to hunt but came back a couple hours later to approach whoever did this and see if they were there...well F**K i was walking along the bank and the F**Kers decided to shoot at me...AND the land owners when the went to check it out. Not sure what happened to them in the end but it's c**k suckers like them you wish would get caught by the cops!!!

No quarter to these guys. Every charge possible should be laid against them.

It's way too common in rural areas adjacent to big cities.

Well the landowner is extremely pissed off right now as he himself is a new turkey hunter as of last year who I have been taking out with me. We're going to post the property completely this week with signs and the 4" red dots on the trees marking out the property lines. We now know who they are and where they live! My tracking skills are still sharp. They live very close and will not be using a vehicle. They travel a public trail and break off of it into the private property. The field is 350 yards west of public land through maple hardwoods. The property is in the green belt area of the escarpment so if trees were cut down to build these blinds there will be a charge there too. We had a problem with these two clowns before deer season with them putting up a hanging stand 20 feet from mine, which has been on the private property for 4 years now. They were told nicely then....now its time for not so nicely!

good luck to ya chillywilly, hope you catch them douchebags

x3, I just hate people like that. I have had tree stands stolen in the same situation on private land, or someone else is sitting in it with no permission on the property.

Quick ????, in Ontario it sounds like you cannot be sitting with a round in the chamber before legal light? Why?? If its opening morning, its legal to be carrying a gun.

When I hike in for a elk/deer hunt, I have my clip in the rifle, and when I get set up before legal shooting light, I have a round in the chamber with the safety one, to be ready and not cycle a round and make noise/movement when the elk are coming in or other game nearby to spook.

Anyhow, good luck on your next turkey hunt & on the manhunt.

I definately have to say that is is hard to find spots to hunt. This is my first year Turkey hunting and I still am not sure where I am going. It does however agravate me to no end when people do stuff like that. How hard is it to ask permission...like really. Hope you catch them and goodluck on the hunt.

red dots mean no hunting and in Ont that means even the owner isnt allowed to do it
the yellow dots signify no tresspassing, do not post any signs that say no hunting as that will apply to the owner as well. make sure that they are only no tresspassing and private property signs. i know it sucks .
i hope they string these guys up by the short and curlys man good luck

Thats actually not true.. a owner can post no hunting and he may hunt his land. The rest of it is though!
