Hi guys I jave somes questions that need answering.

I measured FGMM outside neck diameter of 0.367.
I fired those rounds and and the outside neck dia. ended .371.
That seems normal.

I neck sized those cases using Redding comp. neck sizer with a .365 bushing.

The final product is .363 outside neck diameter.
That is a .004 difference and not .002 (0.367-.0365).

Is that right ? It is my first time using bushing dies.

Another question. If I load 300 gr SMK at magazine lenght, will the bullet will be cramped in the lands ? The rifle is a TRG42.

I don't have the tool to adequatly measure that.

Thanks

Mush

From all the reading I've done on bushing neck dies, if the neck diameter difference between
the loaded round vs fired round is greater then about 0.005-0.006", you should size your brass
in two steps.

For some reason if you try and do it in a single step, it sizes it smaller then the stated
bushing diameter. In your case, you can try sizing with a 0.368" bushing, then do the final sizing
with a 0.365"

Regards and happy reloading

my trg42 and 300 lapua scenar at max magazine length 3.745will be in the lans by 0.005, my Lapua 250 scenars at OAL per Lapua of 3.681 will be in the lans by 0.005. with out a OAL gauge coat the bullet with ink etc. and see if the ink is marred. Hornady OAL gauge is worth the price, the threads are cut at some uncommon twist to keep everyone from making their own cases. by the manuals i would be loading into the lans with my 250's without one. hope this sheds some light.
