Alrighty people. I need some facts and info about these 2 rifles compared. I have shot the TRG 22 and I love what its capable of. Down sides and upsides ( I know alot about the TRG22 tons of reviews) but not a whole lot of knowledge about the Coyote. both cost close to the same. TRG plus P-rail,muzzle brake, bipod comes to about the same as Coyote without a bipod.

I have never fired a TRG only handled them. They seem to be of very high quality, probably very accurate and proven the world over.

The Yote I think is a step above. Especially considering you can call up the gentlemen that makes them! That being said I would love to try a TRG and it is the only other rifle I would consider in .338 other than the T-Wolf.

I don't think you can really go wrong with either, but to me the CDN made aspect is huge.

Cheers, YC

I have a Coyote and couldn't be happier with it.
It's very well built, fit and finish is flawless, and it's a hammer.
Ross is awesome to deal with and he looks after you...nice to know if you ever have an issue or with any luck wear it out....there is never an issue with parts or availibility.

TRG is a great rifle as well, albeit I think they are over priced for what you can get with the same $$.
I have only shot the magnum caliber TRG's and they shoot great...no complaints except the .338 could use a bit more weight. The barrel profile could be a bit bigger for my taste.

Have owned both the regular (26" bbl ) and 20" versions of the TRG 22 and both the McM A5 and aluminum folder versions of the PGW Coyote. Reviewed them all on this site. Both are excellent rifles; TRG has a better magazine and, IMO, a better (two-stage) trigger but all Sako accessories are expensive which is a knock against it. PGW is smoother action. PGW are, of course, Canadian and service is excellent. Both rifles are half minute with right ammo, shooter and glass.

The TRG's are an extremely impressive platform. Their ability to digest anthing you feed them and turn that into sub .5moa groups is un-matched. That said, I'll agree that the price of the TRG is starting to get ridiculous. A local dealer has the 22 priced at $4200 and the 42 at $5400. What a rip-off (wont mention the $6k TRG42 at....) Do yourself a favor, if you decide on a TRG get Clay at Prophet River to import one for you. Well worth it!

As far as the PGW Coyote goes, I'll say that one of the most impressive displays of shooting I've witnessed was when a buddy uncased his 7WSM Coyote plunked it down on its bipod, dialed his dope, and sent 4 consecutive shots into about a 4-5" group at 1100m. Cold bore, no dialing in corrections.

Whichever you choose you can't go wrong.

Can only speak for the TRG22. The bipod is pricy but nice, a harris off the stud makes the rifle sit too high, you pretty much have to go with the sako bipod in my opinion. The rifle is easily adjustable in every way to customize it to you. The only real issue I had was that it has a long throat (like a stock remington), but you are stuck loading to mag length and jumping to the lands. That being said, I've seen people run that rifle with very impressive results (Slavex comes to mind).
I ended up selling mine, but only because I had a bunch of rifles and it couldn't dethrone my custom 'baby' :)

I went through this a year ago trying to decide between the Coyote, TRG and AIAW. After alot of comparison I concluded that they were all very very good and I would be happy to own any one of them. They are all built like tanks and all shoot better than 1/2" if the shooter can. Between the two you have in the running just get the one that gives you the biggest hard-on;)

You can also get a custom from alberta tactical rifle supply .. Just sayin I'm very happy with mine plus it's made or at least assembled in alberta I noticed they are making there own actions now. What kind of glass you going to use ?

I have shot both the TRG 22 and Coyote like everyone else says both excellent rifles and plenty of accuracy to be had from both. My personal preference is the Coyote but that's me, get what feels right and makes you the happiest!

Now here comes the best part for me Ross gives the best service I have ever experienced! Made in Canada by Canadian employees that's who I like to support! You also get a kick ass rifle to boot win win!

Also they are on sale right now but they don't mention the foldable stock? Someone mentioned they had one i believe. How much lighter is this one and how much extra did it cost?

The only down side about the coyote and its a minor issue but still there for me. The color. I've always been a black fan myself. And i know what some will say. Paint it when you get it lol.

Neat little FYI, when you google coyote rifle in youtube. The first video has a Coyote and right beside him a TRG22. shooting
