Tribunal tells federal government to restart military pistol purchase

The US Army is paying something like $210 each for the P230. How difficult would be to say "Make us 20,000 more." issue the 10,000 needed and you have a load of cheap parts in the spare pistols at very little cost.

If they want a SIG, why not just buy the SIG? The customer is always right, no? We know it works. Why should a private company be able to take a government agency to court and force them to consider their product? Makes no sense to me. Sure, government procurement rules might require an RFQ process.

RFQ: supply 8000 SIG P320 handguns. Done.

Odd the Liberals intend to move quickly on thier next round of gun bans but can't find the time or money to replace CF handguns. I am being sarcastic in case someone can't tell.

Because we have to have trials to prevent company executives from going to the people in charge of procurement and saying "hey champ. If you give us this contract we'll kick you back $x per gun delivered"

This contract was written specifically for the p320 and you can tell just by reading it. It specifies everything right down to the location of the loaded chamber indicator. Not the requirement to have one. But the specific location of it. It's designed to keep every other company out of the running

I recall one of the requirements was the trigger should not need to be pulled in order to disassemble, which pretty much excluded the Glock.
