Tried a little experiment yesterday+ More + Pics Now

I would be very interested to know where you two come up with these so called statistics...........Ruger sales 10 times H&H sales...........REALLY and just where is the data to prove this statement !!!!! And Gate just because you say it's for sale in every store in Africa...........don't make it so...........

It's not me that is saying it, it's the Africsn hunters that I converse with that are saying it.

Actually, when asked which stores are carrying the 375 Ruger the answer is 'Just about all the gun stores carry it now"

well i do not have a strong dog in the fight as i do not have a 375 hh anymore .... ( i had one many many years ago and didnt even keep it)

still have a 375 ruger and using the converted brass that Doug and others created so it is mix ...

i found that if a rifle you like is in a 375 ruger that should not you stop from buying it, the 300 win mag brass saved that end of the world for this great caliber ...

Neither side is making sense now.
Douglas is passionate, but so passionate that he does not want to accept the legitimacy of 375 ruger's existence.
The other side keeps using untrue or fabricated statistics, 10:1 for ruger?
I am happy with my 9.3x62. It does everything in North America. If I do go to Africa, I will by a rifle of larger caliber than 375

Oh elker, I not only accept the legitimacy of the 375 Ruger, I actually own one, and so does my son............and I think it is a great cartridge and have said so many times, but I still think there is a strong possibility that it will not survive in the long run. It is not being received by manufacturers well and certainly no one but Horn is making brass, and regardless of what the peanut gallery says, that is a very bad sign. If even one other company made brass for it, I would say it's in for the duration, BUT..................

Con 90.......never owned a 375 Chatfield Taylor, so I can't really comment on it's ballistics other than it would come up short when compared to either the Ruger or H&H........Had a 416 Taylor, but that doesn't count..........SuperCub had a 375 CT for years, maybe he'll chime in with some info........Another excellent cartridge is the 375-300 WM, almost built one but decided to go short action and built a 375-350 RM instead. It was one of the most impressive builds I ever did for ballistics from a short action and barrel (18").

Technically the belt is not removed at all, assimilated would be a more appropriate term and no, no screams, just a loud bang.

Really.... Took me 8 seconds.... Clicked Tradex banner, entered 375 H&H into search, scrolled to page 2 and there it was $135 for 100 pcs

How many 375 H&H's have you owned?

Finding 375 H&H brass is sporadic at best. Yes really. Brass availability would not be my catalyst for choosing the H&H over the Ruger.

I own both and have had no issues finding an adequate supply for my needs providing I don't live past 100.
However, I wish Hornady would make better quality brass as they are the only manufactured source for 375 Ruger.

I get at least 8 loadings in the Hornady 375 Ruger brass before the necks split. While this isn't fabulous, it's not terrible either. I've had other brass of various cartridges split at the neck after 3 firings, which I think is pretty poor. Next batch I start using I am going to anneal after 4 or 5 loads, see what happens.

Primer pockets don't get blown out either.

Just one to be honest.... And i am fairly new to reloading......

But considering the above, I was able to find H&H brass in 3 mouse clicks....Less time than it takes to cook stovetop stuffing.....

I see 375 H&H all the time and same for the components on store shelves in Calgary, cheaper than the .338 stuff I'm looking for too (which is less available for the in person shopper). No not in Canmore, or Theoretical Nowheresville, Northern Canada. Though they may well have it in T.N cause of the big game (hear the bears are pretty vicious there).

Assimilated; is this also what happens to .375 ruger users? When they start yelling about new kings is that the sign?

JK, thanks for your response. The CT has its own new thread now, good to have spun the wheel back around to medium bores.

Fair Enough..... But right after I read this I did a quick Google search of ".375 H&H brass Canada"..... Epps has plenty.... Didn't dig further..... It is a obviously not hard to find.....

Local guy always has it... Trade Ex always has it... .375" bullets everywhere, nothing tough about finding .375 H&H components.

Finding brass for my 308 norma, 7mm wsm and my 284 win has never stopped me from owning these rifle's. The last time I checked winchester still manufactures 284 win brass, and that cartridge has been dying for how many years? The 375 ruger will be around for a long time.

I agree..... And as an admittedly novice reloader, I fail to see a shortage of .375 H&H components.....

Well good then. You are all set. But as a reloader now for 30 years I have at times had trouble locating 375 H&H brass. But that is not the point. The point is, brass availability issues is the last thing that would keep me from owning a 375 Ruger.
