Tried out some Bluedot in 223 today

It also makes your .223 shoot like a K-hornet, my 12fv loves these loads and the beauty is you can watch the gopher blow up thru the big scope because with my heavy Savage there is next to no recoil.

Well lets hope it warms up for the weekend so I can try some :D

How about Win 571. I have several pounds of it. I load it for .45ACP and at 9.3 grains per, I shouldn't run out anytime soon.

The only advice I can give you is that not all pistol/shotgun powders are suitable for rifle. Reduced or otherwise. Unless you have a really good understanding of the burn characteristics of various powders, I would stick with powders you can find data for. I fall into that catagory myself, I figure if someone else hasn't already tried it, it's not likely I am going to re-invent the wheel either.:)

So Google W571/HS7 reduced loads and see if you can find something. You never know.

9 grains for 45?
I only need 5.5 grains of Unique for my 230 grain cast lead bullets that I shoot in my 45. 9 sounds like a rip-off.

What is a rip-off? I have a keg of powder that I got for free. 9.3 grains of W-571 gives me what I need. There are powders that will use less for sure.
