I had purchased a bottle of Dillon's Spray Case Lube months and months ago but I didn't try it until last night. I've been using Lee case lube, the stuff in the little toothpaste tubes with success but it is time consuming to apply.

Man I love this spray stuff. I just used an old cardboard box I had laying around, put in over a hundred and fifty 5.56 cases, and three or four sprays later, I'm done. Full length resizing went very well and I don't think I'll be using the Lee lube any more.

As a matter of fact, I seem to recall seeing a recipe somewhere online where you take the Lee lube and dissolve it in alcohol or something. I really have to find that web site and 'convert' the cream lube to spray.

It saves a lot of time.

I've always used the spray on case lube for rifle reloading, with great results. It's quick and effective. I just stand 50 cases in my loading block and give them a quick shot from all 4 points of the compass and I'm good to go. A can also lasts a very long time (probably 1000+ cases)

A home made version of the spray lube is 1 part lanolin(sheep grease) to 5 parts 99% alcohol. It is the same stuff that Dillon uses and I bought 25 bucks worth of the lanolin off of ebay 4 years ago and still have some left and the alcohol you can get anywhere.

I mix the lanolin and alcohol in a double boiler to just warm the two (110 Deg F) and put it in a spray bottle. A bottle will last about 1 season for me (4000-6000) cases and is about 1/10th the cost of the Dillon or Hornady stuff.

The lanolin is also great for bullet lube.

I use a cookie sheet and Dcillon as well. But I cover the sheet with as many cases as will go in one layer. Spray, shake&roll, spray again.

Fluid Film is lanolin but probably has some additives that keep everything emulsified

I use a tupperware container, load up 50 casings, spray with the lid partly open and close, shake, stir, repeat about 3 times. spraying with the lid just slightly open keeps the mist out of the air and out of your lungs.

I use the Lee. Lubes a bucket of brass in about 30 seconds. put the brass in the pail, smear a 1" worm of lube around the inside of the pail. Put on lid and swirl for 30 seconds. All cases are lubed with just a smidgen in the case mouth to make the button smooth.

I have used left over 2 cycle oil for 20 years, I put a little on a rag and wipe it on the shoulders.. Not good for a high volume, but for a hundred or less it works fine.
