Trigger issues on Cz712

My Cz712 shotgun has two sears that grab the hammer. The tall sear engages first and releases the hammer with a pull of the trigger. The shorter sear will not release the hammer and I have to remove trigger group to set it free. The second sear is pushed forward with a captured spring, and there is no function other than recoil that could possibly release it, as far as I can tell.

I removed the second sear so that I could finish my hunt, but then the hammer wouldn't stay cocked after first shot. It would fall forward against the second shell (semi auto). I could then #### it manually to fire the 3rd shell.

Any tips on posting pictures would be helpful.

Upon closer inspection, I think that my trigger isn't resetting fully. I have a spring that lifts up on the front of the trigger arm, but it looks like it should go higher. Am I missing a piece that attached to this spring?
