I posted this first under gunsmithing, but haven't had any luck. I have a 20 gauge Weatherby semi-auto in need of a trigger job. It's presently too heavy; around 7-8 lbs. I'd like it to a field weight of 3.5-4 lbs. Can anyone recommend someone who does this competently?

I have a Weatherby Sa-08 that I use as a water fowling gun and the trigger breaks at 5.5 lbs but I suspect that 7 - 8 lbs will be within Wby's spec. At any rate, you will probably have a hard time finding anyone competent who will lighten it for you. Not saying there isn't anyone doing it but most guys are afraid of the liability these days.
If it's new then some times bad triggers can shed some weight once they are used a few times and broken in. This can be sped up some what with snap caps and patience.
