Trigger job question

Hello fellow gun nutz. I am going to be doin a trigger job on my NEA 10.5" in the very near future. I have done some research and I know what to do with as far as the springs are concerned, but my question is this. What is the best polish to use when polishing the trigger parts themselves? From I could find people are saying to use "jewelers" polish. But there are lots of kinds of jewelery out there so some more info is required. Any assistance is appreciated.

I use and recommend small ceramic polishing stones from 800 to 1500 grit.
They come in various shapes and sizes to do most all trigger work.
I'll usually finish polish with fine emery cloth.

I use fine and extra fine ceramic stones on trigger jobs. On my Norc AR with stock hammer/trigger I now have it down to 4lbs with stock springs, 3lbs with JP Enterprise springs. Be careful not to change the angles or you will end up with a hammer that won't stay cocked. It only takes a few thousands of an inch to have an unsafe hammer.
 
Don't bother with stoning the trigger parts as they are only surface hardened. Break through that and trigger will last maybe 500 rounds before your replacing the sear.
Save your $s and buy a two stage match trigger kit to replace the POS trigger.

The simple way to adjust the trigger on an AR, (and by the way 4 lbs is way too light!!! Trigger weights for competition AR's unless in the open class are 5.5 lbs min!!!) is to run a 1/4 28 set screw up through the pistol grip screw housing. It comes out right under the back of the trigger. #### the hammer, put the safety on and run the set screw up until you feel it stop, then back out slightly until the safety moves freely. This removes a lot of the creep and give you the sense of a lighter trigger pull. A trigger that breaks cleanly will bt far better and safer for you than a trigger that is light!!

I was too impatient to wait for ALG defense ti finally ship so I bought Spikes tactical battle trigger from ctcsupplies. I love it. It's still heavy as I need it to be for cqb but much smoother.

I would , but baby #2 is en route and I think mama wants diapers, not $350 triggers:D. Let's see how the trigger job goes, if I fudge it up then I'll get the geissele.
 
ALG triggers are finally out on Brownells at least, they're supposed to be better than stock triggers, just not the price of a Gissele or Timney.... Ofcourse if you can afford said triggers, then there's no substitute

Gisselle is the way to go. Dont waste your time tuning the stock trigger. Arms East sells the triggers. I have the ssa-e and it's way smoother than my buddies timmney.
