Are all 12 plastic locks keyed alike? (im assuming these are legal trigger locks, as a simple way to keep legal)

Also your keyed alike trigger locks

Later down the road can a guy buy more locks with the same key from you, or do you guys change em up every once in a while? (open stock)

Anyone have the combo trigger locks?

Not really a key but a flat piece of metal with two dimples to engage the two holes on the screw head and turn it.

They are legal & work. The key has 2 little prongs that go into holes in the lock & then you unscrew it as it is threaded. A little clumsy to use but the price is right.

Some people take a cheap screwdriver & have a " key " welded to it to make it easier.

Yes, the metal keyed-alike locks are all the same key, and we will keep the same key when we order. Frankly I prefer the combo myself.

Thanks for the info guys, reason I was asking about the plastic ones as I know a guy that is not too good when it comes to legal storage, so for 10 or 20 bucks he could have all his guns legal.
He wont like the idea of having a crap load of different keys, but if you say they are just threaded in could a guy remove them simply by sticking in 2 small punches or picks and turning it?

Originally I was wanting to go with the key locks, simply because in the event a gun is stolen it would be harder to be removed by the crook. But in the end all it takes is a drill and you could have it off in 10 minutes.
And for only 2 bucks more a pop a guy can have a combo lock that can be removed quicker than finding a key in a disaster event, less hassle if you decide to not order from the same place, one less key that you need to have on you all the times and not loose, etc.

Thanks CanAm, I plan to order some of the cheaper ($7.99) ones.

.

You'd only need to loosen them with the picks, once you have them loose, you can turn them by hand. Takes a good couple dozen turns to get them all the way off, so it's not the quickest, but when they are tightened properly, you could not get them off with out the key or tools. Hence they are secure enough to comply with laws. Even the best trigger lock will be short work of with a drill or pair of vise grips, so the ability to remove them with a couple picks, is irrelevant.

ETA, anyone who uses Youtube, can see how to open master trigger locks with one little screw driver, that these take 2 little screwdrivers, makes them twice as secure ;)

Combo locks is the way to go no keys and you can add a lock if needed and use the same combination

I use the combo trigger locks. I am the only one who should be able to take that thing off. I could take those smaller ones down with just a thumb tac I have hanging on my wall calender. If somehow someone got into my stuff I want it to be hellish to try and remove the lock. :kickInTheNuts:

Oooh, I wouldn't be too sure about that .

Thumb tack, paper clip, couple of pairs of pliers, take your pick, (no pun intended), they'll all come off ;).

I'm down to popping those masterlock trigger locks off in a couple seconds with a pocket knife. I think I own a couple locks that I don't even have keys for..... The only concern is that they are legal, and these are.

Thanks guys, just waiting on a new credit card to show up, should be here in a few days according to the last time I talked to them. I would prefer to not use my old one, but at the rate my bank has been "forgetting" to call me back on updates I may have to suck it up and use the old one.

CanAm, I had asked before but never realy followed up. Im still curious what the big difference is between the 2 styles of combo locks. Its not like they are the same price, the one is a fair amount more. Making me wonder if its easier/faster to work, better quality, etc.

Wow, and i thought trigger locks were actually secure LOL

One is slightly nicer, some like the red button. We by from a CDN distributor, the other we by direct, so the price is the min difference.

Yes, I've used a screwdriver/knife to pop off the keyed trigger locks for years.

Personally I've bought a whole wack of the "two-hole screw type" trigger locks from Canada Ammo because they are cheap and meet the intent of the law.

I begrudge having to spend money on a useless add-on dictated by vague, worthless and intrusive government regulations. There is no definition in the CC or Firearms Act of what a "trigger lock" is, so why waste money to satisfy a bureaucrat busy-body ?

Want a cheap trigger lock? Put a bolt through two large washers and tighten it over the trigger guard. Congratulations, you have met the intent of the law and the "key" is the appropriate sized wrench. Cable Lock ? Throw a nylon tie/zapstrap through the action.

You'll never satisfy the anti's until all your firearms are cut up and melted into slag, so why waste your time, effort and money trying? Appeasement has a poor track record with tyrants.

Sorry for the rant, guys, save your money and buy more ammo.
