Trigger locks...

Guys, it's really simple. If you want a safety lock - get an Omega. If you have children in the home, you'll appreciate the fact that it can't be easily opened, picked or the combination guessed (especially if it's set to "000") - and is impossible to fire without being completely unlocked using the special tool (not something a child can easily figure out or typically possesses the strength for).

I'm just curious, does the RCMP have this written anywhere? the only reason I ask is that some people may raise issues with not actually seeing a visible lock on your gun. It'd be nice to back it up.

The RCMP will not specifically endorse any one trigger lock. They just provide the guidelines which clearly the Omega meets and exceeds compared to traditional trigger locks. All you want to know about the Omega lock including the RCMP response, can be found here:

I purchased Omega locks for all of my HGs direct from Omega. The first to go bad were the 22LR locks, then the 9mm. Had an issue with one revolver lock that convinced me to abandon them for revolvers all together. The only one still in service is in 45ACP.

I have come to the conclusion that they are NOT up to the task for use in a once a week range gun.

As such I am still looking for a good alternative to trigger locks. I hate those things!
