I am considering to purchase a AR 15 within a couple of weeks. Many people I have talked to suggested in the NEA 15. The only thing they had some concerns with was the trigger pull. Does anyone know the actual trigger pull? I just want to purchase a rifle I will enjoy and have no regrets. Thanks

I know the initial batch of rifles had a heavy trigger in them, but NEA has since put a lighter trigger in them. As to the actual weight of the pull, someone else will have to confirm that.

Nea-15 trigger is quite hard to pull.. i dont know exact weight, but it is havier then any other trigger that i used ..
CRAFM and Brownells have a JP Spring sets in stock.. those are 3,5 lb. and are easy to install... that's what i did.

Without proper equipment to measure the pull, everything else is just subjective comments. Saying that, I will offer my subjective assessment of the trigger pull and tell you that I like the trigger. I haven't polished anything or modified my trigger in any way and mine was in the second batch that has the updated trigger group. It is not the lightest trigger out there but it feels about right for me.

If you are really concerned, head over to Target Sports and fire their rental NEA-15s and see if you like it. I don't know if they have the updated trigger in their rentals but they would be able to tell you and you could judge it for yourself.

The scoop on NEA triggers:

1) Their early triggers were GI weight triggers that I believe were out of spec for the triggers they were using them with. The weight was right, but the dimensions were wrong, increasing the flexure angle to trigger release and thereby massively increasing trigger pull weight. This is not an NEA issue so much as one of their sub-contractors built something for them that was not to spec and NEA did not notice until some guns had been shipped.

2) They now ship their guns with JP Ent. springs in them. Problem solved.
