When replacing the factory trigger does it matter if you leave out the trigger plunger and spring on the factory receiver?

yes, if you leave it out it may not reset reliably... and worst case scenario is full auto as it would reset a little under fire but have no resistance from firing again.

I am assuming he is talking about the 10/22. I have left the plunger and spring out on my 10/22. Seeing as how 100% of my shooting with my 10/22 is on the bench, I like to have the trigger pull low (but safe). I found that i could kind of turn it into a "two stage trigger" (Its not actually that :D) if i take out the trigger return spring. What this does is that each time i shoot, I have to click forward the trigger. It works great for bench and it probably lowered my pull by about .75 lbs or so... :)

Hope this helps. There is no danger in doing this either.

It's a 10/22 and I did put it back in. I'm still waiting for my Skeeters Deluxe kit and barrel to come in and need to change the extractor, but the VQ parts I have already intalled do make bit of a difference. A bolt buffer is a no brainer for anyone with a 10/22, even if it is the only thing you change.

With Skeeters kit you will have to clip one ring off of the larger diameter end of the spring. you will also have to grind the small "leg end" that the spring rides on down to half of its original length, finally you will have to grind about 0.05" off the larger "head" end.

hope this helps:)
