Trigger Reset Question

I am shooting my new Diamondback 9 FS. It looks to be a Glock clone.

When I pull the trigger the first time, it is a bit mushy. If I release the trigger just enough to hear the reset click, the trigger then has a crisp release.

Do I have an over-active imagination? Or, is the release different if it is a shot from the reset position?

Must be a Glock guru out there familiar with how a reset works....

It's very different than a Glock. I have a Glock 17 and have had 3 DB9FS's , 2 with the new slide, one with the old (sold the old slide). None of mine have had the rest you're talking about. They're the same from full pull or reset. Can you explain it a little more?

The first shot is s bit mushy. Subsequent shots, from the reset, are crisp.
