Hi folks, so after many months of waiting on pre order my trigger tech ar15 flat blade trigger pack arrived. Only positive to the wait was not having to pay the current us exchange rate. So here we go!

Packaging is very similar to how my R700 trigger arrived. Pack will look good faced on a stores shelf.

Unpacked it comes with the two Allen key's and instructions.

I removed the white nylon set screw on the bottom of the trigger pack and proceed to installed it in my colt sporter lower that I had assumed had the larger pins untill I mic'd them today doh! So removed stock trigger. Remove safety and drop in new kit. Install safety again and put to safe. I'll explain that in a bit

Once in place use small Allen key in the small holes to tension the trigger pack. I tightened it with trigger in the fire position and it was really difficult to put trigger into safe position.

Adjust trigger weight using the larger Allen key. I backed it right off keeping it 3 or 4 clicks engaged per instructions. It's light, Like really light. Lighter than my ssa-e I don't have a trigger scale so I can't tell you what the pull is exactly.

The trigger really is nice. I think I paid about 250cnd back in the spring for it and feel its worth the money. Now this is the funny part. It feels almost flimsy? I don't know if that's the best word to explain it but It's like comparing the r700 TT trigger to the feel of the timney510 etc. It's nice but not the same.

The trigger has a tiny bit of pre travel then breaks like glass with zero creep. The reset is increadible short on this trigger.

Only negative so far is the safety engagement. It goes to fire with a quick snap as it should. Going to safe though you really need to muscle it into position. It binds at 45 degrees and renders the trigger safe even with a drop test. So maybe I am doing something wrong with it?

Once I try it with the scoped rig I'll try it on my mk18 I look forward to trying it on the range in the comming week or so.

No problem Trinimon, I'm only trying to engage the safety with the hammer cocked. I can live with it how it is but I'd like to see it back to normal.

Hi TheM4chef,

Thanks for your initial review. All installation procedures should be done with the safety in the fire position and the hammer cocked. This is critical.

To be thorough, we would recommend taking the upper off again, putting the safety in fire position with the hammer cocked, and re-tighten the snug-down screws to ensure that the trigger/pins are secured properly.

The action on the TT-AR-15 is much different than the TT-R700. The TT-AR-15 is a 1911 style trigger. There is take-up prior to the release. At the wall, there should be no difference between it and our R700 trigger. Once you shoot live, let us know your opinion.

The triggers are sent out around the ~3.5 lb mark. We would recommend shooting it here to get used to it prior to taking the pull weight down. The instructions should note that the set screw should never have less than 2-3 clicks on it. This is the lowest the trigger should be run. We suggest putting another 3 full turns on the set screw from this location prior to going live. You should shoot it for a while here to get comfortable with it.

If you have any questions in general or about the safety fit, please email sales@triggertech.com or call 1-888-795-1485.

Cheers,

TT

Mine came this week - installed on the gun no problems - super easy.

I still have ~9 clicks on the trigger and measured just over 2lbs with my trigger scale so the possibility is there to go lighter but I thought I's shoot it a bit first.....

Hi OntheBeep - what did you use to measure the pull weight? Where are you measuring on the trigger lever? It should be right in the middle and not on the tip of the trigger lever.

We do not recommend operating the trigger at the lowest setting until you have gotten used to the trigger weight as we sent it. I would do 1.5 to 2 (~3.5 lbs) full rotations from the lowest weight and get used to shooting it there. Only when you are comfortable with the trigger should you decrease the weight.

The break is crisp. It is very nice at any weight you set, but it is a different feel that you should get used to prior to decreasing the pull-weight.

Cheers,

TT
