I am building my first open class rifle in 284win. My question is I am looking for advice on a trigger. Just wondering for the price difference between the bxix'n andy better than the jewel. I have used a jewel and find it to be a very effective trigger. That said I keep hearing the brix'n andy is just that much better. I sure would like to hear from the people using brix'n andy. Thanks

what's the pull range on the bix'n andy trigger? I am guessing you need a remington 700 style trigger

I have a bix n andy two stage, it will apparently go as low as 1/3 oz, I cant imagine that
but maybe. Nice trigger but I doubt my finger can tell the difference between a jewel at 2oz

which one gets your vote of confidence?? tried and trued jewel or the flavor of the month bix'n?

The bix n andy has real pretty shoe that matches my paint job.
In quality the b&a is honestly superior

good to know......I'm looking at a Bighorn arms action........will need a send it button
if osyoos happens I guess I'll have to bring the barnard as it's finally finished....missed last year by a week or two

For a first stage trigger Jewel is hard to beat. I was recently looking for a good adjustable 2 stage with no safety, ended up ordering a X-treme Mod22, don't have it here yet.
Wasn't sure if the Bix'n Andy US dealer would ship to Canada, and the extra $(445us vs 300) didn't seem worth it to me. I doubt many up here are using them, but for their price it better be a great trigger.
Hirsch precision sells the timney calvin elites, looked like real nice triggers too for a reasonable price, only reason I didn't go for that 2stage was the safety on it, but next rem based action I do will get one of those to try it out.

Fail how? Full of Dirt or parts breaking?...all of the above...

Bix n Andy has a more consistent trigger pull. It has been tested down to ounces (2oz) and there is little variation. less change in trigger pull results in more consistent trigger press. end result is more repeatable shots (read tighter groups)

The trigger was designed for the BR crowd and cost accordingly. It has trickled down to F class with great results.

per Chris Harris the US distributor

One huge benefit you will get with the BnA trigger irrespective of the trigger weight setting is that the upward force on the cocking piece is going to be significantly less. This is very important factor in terms of accuracy.

Bix

We have tested many triggers in the market (including the Jewells) and there is no trigger that even comes close to the BnA in terms of dropping that upward pressure. In some case the pressure is 10 times greater. With a Jewell it is about 4X.

This can be achieved in the BnA by using the ball system which holds a huge amount of downward force still using a very light reset spring.

Does anyone in Canada supply either the BixnAndy or the Flavio triggers ? I have a response back from Gary Eakin/BigHorn Sales, that he does not !

Think i remember a guy i shoot fclass with ordering a Flavio Fare direct no problems with shipping. Dont think there is a canadian dealer for Bix n Andy you will have to email bullets central. They also just came out with a direct replace for the barnard P triggers no more extra trigger hanger.

What about the new trigger tech Diamond.
I want to get one and try it. Has anyone used them yet??

it is OK now to let folks know that in 2017 when in Montana I tried the Diamond prototype on a 1000 yard long range BR rifle
that one of the action makers had brought to the shoot, a young guy was having quite success but we only shot 4 matches a day for 2 days,

he let me try it and it had a flat trigger as opposed to curved, and was set for around the BR specs 2-5 ounces,

his rifle was not set up properly in the bags, but he was holding it when a round was fired,

tried the trigger and cycled the rifle in the bags to get a feel on the trigger,

coming from a BR background and holding more than a few records, travelled to Europe for the Canadian team and so on
lends me to have more than a little experience with triggers,

IF and I say IF the final version is as good or better than the prototype it will be a winner,

remember I said if, please

this trigger was set up by a fellow who works for the action maker and is used to competing,

it has some adjustment to the trigger and had been gone over,

I will be ordering a few more to try when they are available and see if my impressions were correct,

even though the maker was receptive to my getting a trigger to test once a certain e-mail verification as to my credentials was sent
this was not followed through as it was winter and illness is not pleasant,

buy a Diamond and see if their quality control is OK and if it is subject to the above they will be on most of the rifles that remain in
my possession to use in competitions
those that know me know my shooting ability in F-class with wind coaches and in short range BR

we might have a Canadian winner here, and my apologies to those who import triggers to make a buck, they are also good although jewell
you may get a great one and a not so good one, they are still widely used and will continue to be with the made in 'merica attitude,

your mileage may vary

also bullet central can ship one trigger at a time under the new USA export regulations, and maybe only one every few months to the same individual,

the USA has rules that cannot be circumvented by just ordering one a week, ask for Dave he knows his triggers and which one you need for the custom actions as not all of them take the same trigger hanger or fit the same i.e. old and new bats

The TT diamond was used by something like 7 out of the top 10 shooters in the PRS this year.

All of the reviews I have read out of the states have also been very positive but this is from the perspective of a PRS/Field type shooting competitor so for F-Class/BR things may be different.

the trigger seemed to be about 4 ounces for me in Montana, if they can get as low as claimed it will work in BRE as well, problem with those guys

is they are like sheep, everybody gets a bix n andy and they all have a group hug, not all triggers made by the same manufacture are created equal, jewell is the poster child for that statement,

glad to know they are accepted in PRS that is a fast growing sport
