Triggers

I have two of the newer Timneys and one older one with the steel housing. The new ones are very good, set at 2lbs, crisp and safe. The older one is better, it goes to 1-1/2 lbs safely. I do have a rifle Basix though currently unmounted. It's pretty nice too but the bolt release is pretty flimsy but it works. If I had to pick I'd go with the Timney...no wait, if I had to pick I'd pick a Jewell like I have on my 5R Remington...now that's a trigger:)

Have a new Tactical Timney #501T to light for a hunting gun, 2 oz to 8 oz, works great on a 40x REM. I have a jewell on my F class gun works well also and you can adjust from oz to 4 lbs but +$150 over the Timney

I`ve installed quite a few Timney triggers on 96 and 98 mausers and found them to be very good. For hunting rifles they are hard to beat for price and ease of adjustment, if i was building a rifle for more than hunting i`d likely go Jewel or Canjar. I have a very nice Canjar single set on my 222 rem. bloody trigger cost more than the rifle. Only got to play with one Rifle Basix that a buddy installed, it was as good as the Timney.

i have a rifle basix and love it,breaks like glass!! the only thing i still need to do is put some kind of shim in it since there is a slight side to side wobble
