TriggerTech - yes / no

I had mine skip one today (first day using it) and had to cycle the bolt for a second time to catch again. (TT Diamond BTW)

Its set on the light side but advertised to go lighter, so I would not 100% trust the 4 oz claim in the advertising. Mine is around 8 oz when the problem occurred.

It happened just once today, but once is enough.

I'm going to increase the trigger weight a bit and hopefully I've seen the last of that.

Other than this one mishap it seems to be a good trigger if you like single stage.

I run this single stage trigger because I suspect it will help my PRS stage times over a two stage trigger, but not certain that's true... time will tell.

One that note, I have another rifle with a CG 2 stage trigger that is my all around favorite. While it is set heavier than my Diamond, it feels lighter because the weight difference between the first and second stages is set to less than the single stage TT Diamond. This provides some guard against accidentally tapping the trigger which incidentally also happened today with the TT Diamond set so light...

So ya... light triggers are both a blessing and a curse.

Personally I wish I had gotten the straight version instead of curved since the rifle its on has a pistol grip and a lower pull angle.

What action were you using? Heard it's not uncommon with Remington actions due to the dimensions of the cocking piece.

I'm using a Cadex CDX-30, but after the Meaford match next weekend its going into a Defiance Deviant Tactical.

I recently had one break on my AR15. I emailed the warranty center and within a few emails and a couple of days I had a replacement trigger in my hands. Their triggers are very good and I can now say there warranty is also excellent.

Rarely will a trigger perfectly interface with an action, if both off the shelf. This can lead to what you described, or more commonly too much sear engagement which results in heavy bolt lift and close.

My TT and TL3 action was not a great combo - could have definitely benefited from trigger timing. The TL3 with TT had very heavy bolt open and close.

Which is why I'm such a proponent of BnA triggers. The user can time the trigger to the action, making a perfect interface, between the sear engagement adjustment and the different available sear heights. Makes a huge difference in how an action feels.

Big oversight by most trigger manufacturers, and clever and great of BnA for incorporating that feature.

I spoke with the guys from Triggertech on Sunday and they were explaining why there are mixed performance reviews with their triggers.

The discussion was prompted when a buddy was having ridiculous problems with his Diamond on a Rem 700 during the match.

The Triggertech guys explained that the distance from the centerline of the action to the trigger pins are different on a Rem 700 compared to a Rem 700 clone with side release lever for the bolt.... Like a Defiance or Surgeon.

The actions with a side release lever for the bolt have trigger pin holes that are about 0.030" higher than the actual Remmy, so this shortens the contact area by that amount if you put a Diamond on a Remmy.

The good news is that Triggertech make other models that are specifically for the actual Rem 700, but the Diamond is not.

So look closely at the model description and make sure if you have a remmy that you get one that says Rem 700 on it and it actually has the bolt release lever mechanism on it.

Work well, easy install. No problems so far

They had a sale last weekend and I snapped one up. Feels really nice.

Mine did not install (Ar15) without taking the safety lever out despite what the manual says, but that doesnt really matter.

I got the adjustable one and its very handy and easy to adjust. Feels like a very solid product. Longevity has to be seen but from what I read on the interwebz its no issue
