I wondered why I never hear anything about people using these. I have only seen one for sale through a vendor on here and it was gone by the time I saw the ad. Why are they not apparently very popular?

Trijicon products are not cheap which precludes them for many folks when shopping for an optic. The other common complaint is the limited reticle selection. Their triangle post is great for quick shots and fast moving/dangerous game, the mildot is well... A mildot reticle so it has all the pros and cons of a mil dot reticle. The duplex in my opinion (and that of many others) is that it sucks all around. Aside from the limited reticle options the Accupoint line is well made and has excellent glass. I've used their 1.25-4x, 1-4x, and the 5-20x scopes all were excellent.

Which one is a better scope? Trijicon Accupoint or Nightforce NSX?

Apples to Oranges comparison. Both excel in different aspects of use and/or feature sets. Both are excellent products. Nightforce offers more models with more reticle selection. Trijicon has self illuminated aiming points which are necessary for the Bindon Aiming Concept to work which Nightforce does not have. Selecting an optic can and should take some serious effort in looking at the type of shooting you intend to do, the features you need vs the features you want as well as being honest about the features you need being features that you both understand and will likely utilize. Quality scopes are quality scopes, but some are better suited to certain roles than others.

If you're comparing the Trijicon 5-20 to the NXS 5.5-22, it's no contest. Trijicon reticle selection is quite weak and their mildot reticle will be mis-matched to moa turrets. They also have a very limited amount of elevation. I always thought the glass was pretty decent though.

Very good points.

Thanks for the inputs. So what will be the pros to choose Trijicon over Nightforce then other than the price is lower on Trijicon?

Trijicon and nightforce source their glass from the same manufacturer so clarity will be identical. I have a nightforce NXS, and a Trijicon 5-20. The shortfallings of the Trijicon is just as previous posters identified: very limited elevation, reticle mismatched, reticle too thick. Also the turrets aren't as "refined" as on the nightforce. but the Trijicon glass is better than on most mid-priced scopes IMO.

Except for the weight and the very small centre dot. I was really hoping it was better.

I find the centre dot gets very bright and very easy to use, even though it is small. The only time the dot disappears is when shooting from a dark area into a bright area. I did find that it still allowed for quick shooting due to the thicker reticle lines at the sides drawing the eye to the middle of the reticle. This is a personal preference thing though. I am just as fast with the sight as my red dots.
