Looking for feedback on those of you who have the Trijicon ghost sights on your shotty with 12.5" barrel. I am looking to put the sights on my 870 in hopes that they resolve my 'shoots high' issue. Currently I have a bead only and it shoots about 4" high at 10 yards.

Thanks.

Do you have just the bead, or do you have a bead on the Remington-type bead sight base like this?

The sight base is designed so an 870 will shoot to POI with a 18.5", 14" or 12.5" barrel.

If you have a Grizzly barrel, with a bead screwed directly into the barrel, then that is the source of your problem. They omitted the base, probably to save $$, and they tend to shoot low.

I have just the bead and yes that is the problem and why I am looking for feedback on the above mentioned sights.

Anyone have these sights with a 12.5 in barrel?

FWIW, if you want a cheaper solution, Tactical Ordnance (board sponsor) can put a Remington sight base onto your Grizzly-type plain bead barrel for pretty cheap. In fact, I'm having them add one to my Grizzly while they are cerakoting the gun in FDE and threading for RemChoke.

Oh, and to answer your original question, ghost ring sights that will work on an 870 with a 12.5" barrel would include:

- Scattergun Technology Remington TrakLock II
- XS Sights Tactical Ghost-Ring Sight Set (available in Tritium)
- Trijicon Remington 3 Dot Green Front & Adjustable Green Ghost Ring Rear Night Sights (Just TrakLock sights with Tritium inserts)

There are probably others, but these sights are all windage and elevation adjustable and should work just fine.

Another option is the Dominion Arms sights from Can Am, but not sure of they sell the front sight block separately. It would need silver soldering.

You can also install the Mossberg-type Ghost Rings, but they are hard to install on a Remington such that the elevation screw does not foul at the rear of the bolt travel.

You missed the Vang Comp sights - they're like the LPA only appear to be better quality (which is pretty amazing) they also use an AR front post, so it's adjustable at both ends and replaceable..

Good info here. Thanks for sharing!
