I am relatively new to pistol shooting. Recently, I decided that I wanted to get into IDPA, but before I would, I thought I would improve my pistol shooting first.
I just took a 2-day tactical pistol course, and my problem is predominately with my lack of focus on the front sight. When I draw and fire without thought, I shoot clover groups; Any other time, I don't.
My question is two fold:
1. What would be better recommended for my problem: Fiber optic front sight, or Trijicon HDs? Would one help me focus on the front sight better than another? Has anyone used both? Switched from one to the other? Your thoughts?
I ask because the instructor suggested to give them a try to help draw my eye to the front sight. FYI, the first handgun I ever shot has a fiber optic front and blacked out rear, and I shot that better than I ever have since then.
2. How tall are the Combat Competition Sights? I ask because I just ordered a Safariland 6004 SLS holster, and I want to make sure I will be able to holster my gun with any of the aforementioned sighting systems
Thanks to all who post, and sorry for my noobish question!
