Hey all, so I've got a trijicon front sight on my 1911 and the white rubbery ring that goes around the tritium vial has crumbled after my last range session.

Has this happened to anybody else? Is it safe to continue shooting? Or will I get a face full of tritium eventually?

I've contacted dlask who did the install, and trijicon but nobody has responded yet.

What do you guys think?

I've been trying with my phone but I can't.

My dslr is in asia with the wife so it'll be mid may before I can get a Good enough picture.

Contact Casey at Tactical Ordnance and he can pull the tritium vial and then reinstall the silicone rubber cushioning !!

Update for any of you that may be interested.

I contacted 3 groups dlask, trijicon, and Casey @ tacord.

Of the 3 Casey was extremely helpful, trijicon said send us the slide for analysis, and dlask was unresponsive as per normal.

The run down is: the white stuff is not the silicone rubber cushion as I had thought. As Casey informed me it is actually just thick epoxy paint.

The rubber cushion is actually Loctite black max, which is what holds the vial in. Casey assured me that it's safe to continue shooting.

Thanks for your help guys.
