So I shipped my sight to Trijicon via Fedex Ground at the beginning of September.
A week or so later I received a call from Fedex in Ontario telling me that it might be on their prohibited item list as it was a firearms accessory and that they may not be able to export it. She gave me their customer service number to contact. When I called, the lady at the other end told me No, they just needed to know the country of manufacture, which I had originally included with my export documentation, and she emailed me some forms to fill out. A few days later, before I had a chance to fill out and send in the forms, the Fedex tracking system notified me that my package was out for delivery(???)
Trijicon emailed me, confirming that they had received my optic and that one of their technicians would inspect it and let me know if it would be covered under their warranty, which it was, and that it would be repaired or replaced at their discretion.
It took about 2 months, but I received notice that it had been repaired at no cost to me and was being shipped back via Police Ordnance, and yesterday it arrived at my door.
Total cost to me was about $45 for the initial Fedex charge. Not bad on an optic purchased in 2012.
