Just curious to peoples thoughts and opinions on Trijicon scopes. I know there ACOGS and Red Dots and in the very high end just havent seen much of there actual scopes. I assume they will be of high quality as well. Just wondering if anyone has personal experience with them and how the glass is. I have a Sightron Siii and a few other mid to high end optics already. I just made a trade with a friend for a Savage .338 unfired with a TRS23 5-20x50 optic.

Cheers

Reason I didn't go for it was that its adjustments are MOA, while the reticle is Mildot. Major pain in the ass to convert.

I've heard nothing but good things. In fact, if I hadn't just upgrade my guns to Nightforce scopes, I would have tried one. I had a TR24G that was awesome - I would expect optics to be on par with Leupold VX-3 or better.

The mil/MOA thing is a minor gripe, but a valid one. I'm not sure why manufacturers do that anymore. Mil/Mil or MOA/MOA!!!

Gotcha, It wouldnt exactly be in my first choices if I was purchasing a scope but more so because of my lack of knowledge on there optics, just so happens to come in the deal. Do you happen to have an opion on the glass?

Honestly, at the price I'm paying, if I could tell what then difference is for the glass, the quality is definitely not good enough. Just like how an LMT versus Daniel defense carbine, which is more reliable? You cant held the difference.

Thanks for your inputs guys, I will most likely just throw my Siii 8-32 on it. Rifle and optic are on the way to me now so of course I can look thru it myself. Im just impatient lol and like to hear others views. cheers

Thanks for chiming in ATRS, that is definetly a no go then and I will be listing it. I plan to remove the top rail section on the Savage all together and put on a 20MOA rail. I know the factory rail has it built in but just like on my .308 i prefer the rifle without the full length top rail.

On a side not I have one of your ATRS 20MOA rails on my 700 .308 and it is a beautiful piece, do you make rails for the Savage .338?

I have all three scopes that are mentioned here, including Zeiss. As far as optics go, to my eyes, I would put Zeiss first then Trijicon, NF then Sightron. The Trijicon is as heavy as the NF and probably as tough. As mentioned above, MOA adjustment could be more but a 20 moa rail will let you get out to 800+.
Since it is sitting on my custom 6mm Rem, it serves my purpose.

Yes we DO make a rail specifically for the 110 BA but they have 30 MOA built in as most guys shooting a Lapua want to shoot waaaaay out there.
We have them in stock, they are made of stainless steel just as all of our rails are but are salt bath nitrided to make them nice and black in color.
The rail comes with the proper 8x40 screws as well.

Thank you for that quick response, I will contact you once I actually have the rifle in my hands. This is my first venture into .338 and honestly I never thought I would own one but the deal fell into my lap and is highly in my favor so I jumped on it.

Typically the 110BAs shoot very well, just do NOT try and run Hornady ammo through it unless it is March 2013 or newer manufacture.
Don't know which maker is at fault, but the combination works poorly in the Savage rifles. The latest ammo is supposed to correct this issue.
Have fun with it!

Just recieved my 110 and Trijicon 5-20x50, I have to say I am actually very impressed with the glass. The turrets have a very nice solid feel, crisp reticle and the magnification ring is one of the smoothest I have ever used. With the limited elevation adjustment I will be replacing it with my Siii 8-32x56 on the BA but Im going to keep it for another build. Pleasantly surprised by this optic.
