Trijocon Accupower 1-8x28mm Variable Optic

its heavier than a CQBSS and the CQBSS I have feels like a boat anchor on top of my SR25 and Scar17 that it flip flops between. I'll stick with my Kahles and Leupold Mk6 1-6s for carbines if more mag is needed then stepping up to a 4-16, 3-15 or 3-18 is a better option IMO.

It's 1.8oz heavier.

It's 1.8oz heavier.

Actually I just looked it up and leupold list its 1-6 ant 17 oz and trijicon list its 1-8 at 25 oz, so half a pound :s also the Khales is 16.9 oz.

I really would like one but yeah damm its heavy, probably due to those big ass turrets.

I dont think thats out of the ordinary for a 1-8x optic

If you're doing apples-to-apples, S&B's 1-8x24 Short Dot is 23.1 oz., and that's with a 30mm tube. I think Trijicon did well for the weight, especially given the price point.

Yes with apples to apples but is one ready to take 3/4 pounds more for an extra 2x at the top?

That's what I'm asking myself.

It's already been pointed out that the Trijicon has 34mm tube but also 28mm objective.

With glass it's always a trade off and balance between quality glass (brightness & image quality) and weight.

It's no different if you look at camera lenses.
