Last year I bought a few revolvers, a case of white box ammo and a dillon 550b.
My goal is fun target shooting and to improve my skills and shooting.
I was given random collections of used brass.
Now I have a mix of about 1200.
My revolvers shoot nice groups, but with the occasional flyer.
The flyer might be off 4" in any direction.
My powder charges of win 231 are consistent.
I bought a trimmer and proceed to mike brass.
The outcome surprised me.
Less than 5% need trimming. 10% are 10 thou under.
Lyman says 1.149" trim length.
I adjusted my mike to 1.147 and still over 50% are under.
What to do???
Should I set my mike to 1.146"
Then divide the group in 2.
The short ones become casual use.
The rest I trim to 1.146" and call this my accuracy group?
