Trimmers

Giraud Powered Case trimmer. Pricey but worth every penny. I had a Wilson stainless case trimmer with micrometer adjustment. Accurate but very slow, then you had to chamfer and debur after. Giraud does it all in one shot, very fast and accurate as well.

Gracey power trimmer. Trims, chamfers and deburrs all in one shot. Works like an electric pencil sharpener. Cheaper than a Giraud.

I have a Wilson with shell holders for all calibers.

I've been using a Forster for a long time and am quite happy with it. Just bought one of their new
cutting heads for it in 6.5 caliber. Trims AND bevels both inside and outside. What a time/effort
saver!!

I too have been a fan of the Forster system. Mine is set up to trim to length right now, later I plan to setup for outside neck turning.

However it is more suitable for those heading in the direction of precision and not a great choice is your goal is high volume. I'm slowly working away at about 1k of 223 brass and it would be nice to have a powered system, but later on it will be fine for batches of 50-100 units.

I started with the Lee trimmer set you can use by hand or put in a cordless drill. I used that system for 35 years of so. Gets old when doing bulk .223 and .308. Went to a Dillon electric trimmer mounted on a progressive press. Still had to bevel case mouths. Got the Worlds Finest Trimmer from Old Crow Gunworks with different calibre inserts . Still had to bevel each by hand using a Lyman Case Prep Center. Got a Giraud Tri Way Trimmer that trims and bevels once you #### with it to get is set up right. I used it in a drill press but that gets to the hands after a while pushing up and twisting. I finally put it in an old corded electric drill clamped in a vice and mounted horizontally. Works way better that way. Faster and easier on the hands. I just did 500 .308 today with it.
I still use the Lee trimmers with the case length pilots for the calibres I shoot less of. The Worlds Finest Trimmer I use for a few more calibres in the calibre family groups that it accommodates.
I have over $1000 invested in trimming equipment. I don't use the Dillon electric trimmer on the progressive press anymore. That was $500.
