Does anyone know the length for the "kitty cat" upper buffer spring?? The 7.5" barrel??? Mine tries to triple feed when shooting.(one round half out of the breech, one underneath the first and the third out of the mag lips on the ramp) I'm interpreting that the bolt carrier is not moving to the rear enough. When firing one round everything works fine. Plunger and extractor are both functioning. And I have tried two different bolt carriers.

Any help would help!!!

Thanks,

36 coils on a carbine spring. Don't trim springs, buy the right ones.

You may have other issues with you shorty though. Need more info to troubleshoot.

Start with a known reliable, issue free magazine.

I counted 37 coils on both springs I have here. I used 4 different mags while trying to troubleshoot. What else would cause 3 rounds to try to feed/extract at the same time???

I've been using c-7&8s since they came into the system, but this short bugger is new to me and I've never seen this before, hence the post.

OK then, describe your AR. What make, type of barrel, is it factory original or cobbled togeather with frankenparts.

Which type of gas block, is the gas tube a pigtail, does your upper receiver have M4 ramp cuts while using a conventional barrel, has the gas port been messed with, like maybe enlarged more than it should be, what kind of buffer, new parts or old parts were used to build it, what make of parts... etc.

Can you lock the bolt back manually, can you pick up a round while cycling the action manually. Does it feed and extract manually.

You will likely need a heavy full auto carrier and an Hbuffer too.
