Here's a rather unusual Milsurp find for me. I picked up a trio of 6.5 X 55 Krag Jorgensens today. The top one is a 1908 full wood (crack in the wrist where someone taped it but very repairable), the middle one is a 1896 with shortened forestock. Awesome bore, in fact the best I have ever seen in a Krag Jorgensen. The short rifle is an 1897 which apears to be an arsenal shortened long rifle by looking at the forestock. Bore is REALLY good on this gun as well. There is some pitting on the exterior of the barrel though but the internals are still covered in cosmoline. I don't think any of these rifles were ever fired since they were sold surplus years ago. These are the only intact full wood Krags I have ever found, although there may be a few tidbits missing on two of them. I have a few others but they have had cousin Bubba visit and do some custom woodwork unfortunately. They are neat old guns with the slickest action you'll ever find on a military rifle and they sure do shoot sweet, chambered in the trusty Swede!

I was very happy to have the "rabbits foot" again, LOL It has been a couple months since I found something really neat. I have since done a cleanup on the long Krag and the short rifle and at least temporarily junked the other one for the missing tidbits for the other 2. The two made very nice rifles.
