So I took the 3 RAR's out to the range together; 300 blackout, 7.62 x 39 and .450 bushmaster.

Relatively cheap and nasty, these rifles have impressed me so far;

The pro's;

Relatively cheap rifles
Sufficiently accurate
Light weight
Nice recoil pad
Nice trigger on all of them
Handle and point nicely
Fun to shoot.

The cons;

The stock feels cheap and flimsy, although I think this is perceived
The plastic mag on the 300 bo is not great, and the mag release is plastic (and is part of the mag)and broke the first time I took the mag out. Retailer made good tho and supplied a new mag.
The action makes a "strange noise" when working the action, but does not affect operation in any way

I love the rifles, but for me the downside has been the stock as well. Definitely nothing to write home about. I haven't noticed a noise while working the action myself but have heard about this in cases besides yours.

What was your choice of ammunition? Groups look quite good.

I’ve got 2 RAR 22lr and both make a zipper sound when cycled and it seems most other people I’ve talked to,relate the same thing. It’s the poor finishing on the bolt.

Ammo used for 300 b/o and .450 bm, were handloads, 7.62x39 was American eagle fmj's, first time out with it, so I needed brass.

I see Boyd's now make replacement stocks for this rifle, but one has to weigh up if it's worth putting more money into a "cheapish" rifle.
