Triple Deuce 55gr sierra... powder suggestions

H4198 is my best powder in my deuce, H322 is a close second. Best bullet i ever used in it isn't available anymore but most match bullet will shoot very well for me.

Hey all!!! so i was able to get out today to try some loads.. Never had any time to make or test any extra powders but here is what my loads tests looked like.

Powder- Benchmark Started with 21.7 gr powder and worked up in .2gr increments..
Primer- CCI 400
Brass- Old W-W Super
Bullet- 55gr Sierra Gameking

Velocity... I dont own a crony but according Hodgdon Webpage They should be around the 3000FPS

My Sako L461 loves IMR4198 and 50 grain bullets. I didn't have as good of luck with H322 or H4198. I have never had good luck with any Hogdon powders in any of my rifles. Still have to try a 22-2250 load out with H380 though….

I haven't used any of the powders you mentioned. I have used IMR4198, H335, BL-C(2), H4895, H414, IMR4350 and IMR3031.

my most accurate load was 18.5 grs of IMR4198 with a 50 gr Speer "TNT" hollow point, CCI 200 primers (Model 340 Savage).

I use the exact same powder load, but with the Hornday 50 gr SX. I also use WW 748 to launch Winchester 45 gr Hornet bullets out of my own triple deuce. (788)

The terminal ballistics with the Hornet bullets is very bizarre to behold. It's as if the struck gophers were picked up by a giant off the ground, and only just a foot or two, and then turned inside out, and then set back down, like some faustian bloody sock trick! Accompanied by a very strange popping sound. The closest thing I can think of is the uncorking sound of a champagne bottle on New Year's Eve.
But louder.

I can never usually finish off the 5 bullet myself as I always start to giggle when the first 4 go into the same hole, thats why I almost always shoot 3. FS
