Tripod shopping

Leofoto is a Chinese corporation that directly rips off it's competitors. They directly ripped off RRS, going as far as stealing the SOAR name of the RRS shooting product line, and directly copying their products.

I would never recommend Leofoto, not with their company ethics (or lack thereof). I completely understand people not wanting or needing to spend the money on RRS, but I could never support a company that makes knock off products. In PRS comps, people have also experienced reliability issues with Leofoto tripods. I think rugbydave can speak to that from first hand experience. But I've heard of lots of people having problems with Leofotos when the conditions aren't the greatest.

In case I wasn't explicit enough earlier. If someone in Alberta or SK is placing a RRS order, I will be happy to get in on it to save shipping.

I believe if you order from BHphoto, they actually ship to Canada for free (you'll likely still pay some duty). I was just looking but managed to find a used RRS and jumped on it.

BHphoto will ship to Canada but they dont carry any of the RRS Soar line. So you wouldnt be able to get an anvil- 30 head threw them. Was looking at the same thing a while ago.

I just finished getting my tripod set up for this coming LR season. IMO this is the "ultimate compromise". Innorel RT90C ($270USD from Aliexpress) with an RRS Anvil-30 ($350USD), or other RRS ballhead. I also picked up a top plate ($125USD) from a fella in Minnesota (advertised on Snipershide) to allow direct mounting of the Anvil to the tripod. With the adaptor you can attach the Anvil with 4 allen screws and the centre stud. It's super rigid and never worry about the centre stud loosening when panning. This is a pretty damn solid set up for $745 USD.

For anyone looking to order RRS, I highly recommend contacting Michael Haenel directly at RRS

Just got a Two vets quick deploy. I really like it, seems to be a very solid built tripod. Not sure who builds them for them but they seem to be good quality.
