tripods and shooting

who is using what? I find in my AO prone dont work 90% of the time so if not shooting off pack or bipod I am shooting off a old tripod I found and modded up

I have a rest that I made for my Manfrotto tripod. Solid as a rock!

We use a $20 tir pod with the detacable head and a mod on that head for dog hunting. It works well not as steady as a bi pod but it gets you out of the grass and snow.

I'm using a Bog pod Tripod right now, it works great.

I have used the Bog Pod and found it excellent in the gopher patch.
Have used it as a tri pod as well as a bi pod in the sitting position. You can fold two legs together and hold them in place with the velcro strap and have a Bi pod.
Added a Stoney point Kicker to hold the butt of the rifle in tri pod position. Rifle stays in place. With this in place I can still use the bipod position.
A great piece of kit.

dont know the brand but she is old the lower legs are three piece and I can get her up high enough to crouch I can still mount my spotting scope if the rifle is not on it, have killed a few Ghogs with this set up too out to 400 meters

055XPROB Pro... extremely versatile tripod. The swinging column lets you do a ton of things with it. Standing, prone, sitting, at a bench... whatever you can imagine. I sometimes use it to hold my chrono when shooting prone or I put that rest on it and use it as a front support for my Enfield.

I've shot sub-moa groups with it configured as a rifle rest. It's that steady!

Henry's has the Manfrottos on sale quite often. I use the same thing with the regular head on it. It's also pretty handy if you use a chrony, they also use the same thread.

Here it is with the homemade rifle rest. The rest has a strap that secures the rifle to it and straps on the back to mount it to the molle on a pack.

Expensive tripod, but it's light, solid and will do anything you would ever need a tripod to do.

Three dowels tied in the middle with a small sandbag in the crotch works just fine too.

Hey Kombayotch:

Didja use that Manfrotto unit at NSCC this past August?

Just curious to see and know how it would work at our game (ORA and DCRA NSCC PR matches), otherwise, I will just keep my existing Velbon Mini tripod.
