I stopped by Wanstalls on my way home from work and got to thinking; how old is this floor?

I've been going to Wanstalls since I started driving in 1986. One of the things I remember about my first visit was the floor, and how old it was :). I went there for fishing gear mostly and pellet guns. I was too young for FAC and didn't know anybody into guns, so I would just stare and dream ;)

Anyways....
What store did Wanstalls take over, and when?
Who were the two old boys that hung out with Tony back in the day? To be honest, I don't know but I can safely assume one of them.
What would you go to Wanstalls for, not related to outdoors? (until ~10 years ago)
Who ran the till?
The last one is easy;
How cool is it to have a store like Wanstalls in you very own neighborhood? :cool:

TV repair?!! I remember when televisions had tubes instead of transistors and the tubes used to burn out and need to be replaced. That was when I was a kid ... now I'm sixty-four.

For what it's worth, there is a hamburger joint in Waterloo called Harmony Lunch. My stepmother used to go there as a child and it is still her favourite hangout (she's eighty-nine). I would swear the floor has not been polished in all that time. :sok2
