Though I may be wayyyy off on this.

Ok..back to educated answers now.......:D

if you have the money get the trojan....

The Spartans are their entry-level gun. The Trojan is a big step up with things like stippled front strap, undercut trigger guard, beveled ejection port, etc.. If you want a base gun and don't plan to do much to it, the Spartan is great. But if you plan to make improvements you may want to spend a few extra dollars on the Trojan. The Trojan also comes in calibers other an .45ACP.

The cast frame, bar stock slide, and barrel are all made by Armscor in the Philippines as already mentioned. STI makes all the other parts and ships them down there for final assembly, then the guns get shipped back to STI for final inspections and any necessary adjustments/fixes.

The Trojan on the other hand is built in house by STI.

You can order a Trojan built with (or without) the finish, sights, and features you want (and don't want) in either 9x19, .38 Super, .40 S&W, or .45ACP. As you like it.

The Spartan is...umm...spartan. It is what it is, parkerized, adjustable sights, in .45ACP only, with no options.
