Harvested this brute earlier today..its the largest brown phased black bear I have encountered..it squared 7 feet :dancingbanana:..it has a pretty light brown muzzle..and big paws equiped with long perfect claws..

The hide is gorgeous chocolate brown and perfect flawless..no rubs..and is thick and luxurious..it is wet in the photos after passing away in the water pocket in the background...

The bear weighed in @ approx 400 pounds..

The head is massive and wide..with the ears hanging off the sides...

all in all this black bear has it all..and should make the B&C book..

It is a gift for some very good friends...

Oh My God!!. Nice friggin bear!! Tell us more. What did you use to shoot it with. Caliber, round, grain bullet, rifle, scope (if any), and more details about the hunt, where? Happenstance encounter or stalk? Hungry to hear more about it. Congratulations.

Would it be wrong to comment on the shooter and the bear having similar head features? You know kinda wide with ears on the side?:D Great Bear

I would have tried to clean up the blood on the muzzle (even a little) - just to make a better photograph because that is, indeed, a nice looking bear. Congrats.

Ya very simmilar only the one in the back is a old overweight silvertip as evidenced by the silver muzzle..:p..

used the .338 with 225 grain TSX @ 40 yards

Fall guy yes it would have been much better photo with blood wiped off, you are indeed correct...

I will do a write up on the exciting hunt later on today just wanted the photos up..

Last year on my Trophy Stone sheep...I cut off the legs of my $$$$ Cabelas longjohns to clean up the blood off the sheeps muzzle...wasnt wearing long johns..no towel..should have just used the dry grass..

no not yet Boo..they ALL have went BANG when needed..:nest:..lol

My "very good friend" Boo has reloaded some ammo for my .270 that downed my B&C stone sheep last year and now my black bear..the .338 has been fired 2x on big game animals both one shot kills...

THANKS BOO ...will take a LONG time to go through the ammo using only one per animal
