Trophy Hunting on CNN Tonight (Sunday) at 9pm

Just got done watching it. I thought they made a pretty good case for trophy hunting in that it generates huge dollars and that ultimately saves the game and encourages them to breed in relative safety. If it wasn't for the fact of the big money they would be gone to poachers who want to sell them on the black market and tribesmen who want to protect crops and livestock.
If it pays, it stays - that's just the fact. Trophy hunting ultimately saves animals is the message I got.

I am not anti trophy hunting and think it was fairly even handed, but:
- the American guy at the "canned'' (for lack of a better word) hunt seems like an #######, drinking a beer while he plugs shots into a crocodile.
- why did they let the elephant die so slowly like that while they hacked darts 5 meters away from it? The one coup de grace did not work why not give it another?
