Trophy Room......Finally Finished......Last Pics

Well gentlemen, the room is 95% complete. All that's left is to finish the bar, which I will do this winter sometime. The boys are all hung, the walls patched and touched up, the floors vacuumed, washed and waxed (yes, I did it all myself) and it's looking pretty good. Maybe I'll post some pics of the finished product later if anybody's interested..........

I think you mentioned at some point in this thread that there are some more mounts not yet seen...giraffe, hippo, something else I think? These were freestanding? Are they in there yet? And the rugs, right?

I'm spending the day trying to make a black-powder possibles bag from a tanned buffalo scrotum...so, yeah, I really, really need a break! :)

Very impressive.

I really like the high ceilings. Have you considered some murals to add some depth to the (white) walls?

Something like this, perhaps?

What a place to be in life..................huh Douglas?
Nuff there to look at to bury the memories of yer past ........uhmm...........
well, t'uther kritters in yer life.

Gorgeous display, Douglas. Beautiful polar bear mount. He looks lonely all by himself over in that corner; time to get back into the field with a rifle! :) And the rugs really soften up the look of all that shiny flooring...very nice. That white/black wolf is magnificent.

All that room needs now is to ditch those boats, and have a nice display of Euro-style skulls on that shelf.

What are your plans for those windows? Are the mounts far enough away that there is no direct sunlight on them?

The windows will be getting exterior roll up remote control shutters and there is an 8' overhang on the roof line out towards the lake which helps with the direct sunlight. The boats will have to go I agree, as the leopard will be laying on the shelf below the eland/red lechwe and I will likely be putting my lizards there as well. I have many, many bear and wolf skulls to display there as well and my leopard and a couple baboon skulls too. It will be a work in progress for the rest of my hunting life for sure, but the main characters are in place and not likely to move again.

Looky.......yeps thems the clodhoppers off'n my effelent.........gortz the tale and errs around here sumwares tu.......oh ya and the big teef what stuck out the frunt tu........Wifey decorated the wolf for the party, crown gone now, just wolf left......

Well done Douglas..... The members of the tiny ten, and oddly enough, the full body warthog are my favorites...... I like the layout of the chairs.... Could definitely see a few guys sharing a bottle of something really good and swapping tales in that room.....
