Trouble priming .50 BMG

Any tips on priming .50 BMG ?
I had a heck of a time trying to de-prime so i bought a 1/8 punch , WOW , that was easy , now , trying to re-prime just aint happening .
I'm pretty sure these are ex military rounds so the old primer was crimped in there .
How do you get rid of the old crimp? Really getting discouraged with this re-loading .

Did you swage the primer pocket, or otherwise remove the crimp around the primer pocket?

Ya gotta get that crimp out of there so that it will take the new primer. When I did mine I went out and got myself a deburring bit for metal and chucked it up in a hand held drill and took off just enough so that the primer would go, worked like a charm.

I use a Lyman deburring tool, its a little bigger than my RCBS one, and just chamfer the edge of the pocket by hand.
