Hello my father and I just picked up a sauer 202 classic used. It says in the catalogue that it come with a set trigger. Is the set trigger the same as a single set trigger? If so how do you engage it ? It seems that it won't set forward , I have read that you may have to adjust the Allen key on the trigger guard. Does anyone have experice with this rifle ? Any help would be appreciate
Stefan

IF it has a single set trigger, it is set by pushing forward. However, someone may have messed with the sear engagement of the "set" feature and made it not able to engage. Or else you may have a simple "shotgun style" trigger that those rifles were also commonly fitted with.

As far as I can recall, generally Sauers are imported into the USA (us) market with single non-set triggers as that is what North Americans keep demanding. Their manuals usually show the set as that is what the Euro's want for a trigger. The set is an option for us most times with euro rifles.

you can contact Sauer with the serial number and know exactly the way she left the factory.

then you can post a pic of the trigger group not very hard to do on a sauer 202 ...

all the best.

I have a 202 with the set trigger, you simply push the trigger forward and it engages the set trigger.

As already mentioned, You may not have a set trigger as the manual for the 202 will have all the options and functions in it regardless of how that rifle was ordered. It took me close to 2 years to get the rifle and extra barrel I wanted because of the set trigger and caliber I chose as everything was a custom order, I even had to wait for magazines.

Thank you for all the suggestions . I have orders the tools that were suppose to come with it , I will have to wait until then to take the trigger group out . It still is a sweet trigger even with out the set trigger.

They don't all have a set trigger. I have a 200 that does and a 202 TD that doesn't, which kinda disappointed me because the TD is way more money. I wouldn't mess with the trigger group though.
Try contacting Sauer and give them the serial number, they might be able to help.

Cheers

Well i was messing around with the rifle and guess what it has the set trigger!! super stocked to get to the range tomorrow and try it out. I guess i was not pressing the trigger forward hard enough.

Hmm, it's not a set trigger, it's a "single set trigger" that you have. A set trigger is a "standard" trigger that cannot be set. Generally there are three triggers groups for hunting firearms; set, single set, double set.
