Hi There,

Took the shotgun to shoot some clays, gun worked fine shooting target loads and slugs. After about 100 shells, the shotgun would load but when I pulled the trigger the shell wouldn't fire. I can hear the click of the firing pin but the shell wouldn't fire. Any ideas? I'm assuming maybe the firing pin is damaged causing inadequate contact with the primer?

Anyone else have simiar issue? And what they did to fix them? Or suggest some things I can change to correct it (ie. buying new pin or whole bolt). Thanks in advance.

Have you assembled and clean the gun, some of the cheap target loads are dirty rounds for un-burnt power and if you have any of the heavy packing oil inside the bolt, may crap things up.

Thanks for the tip, I'm going to give it a thorough clean and oil and give it another shot (also suggested by Canada Ammo). I'll update this thread with my results.

Make sure the barrel is fully seated in the action too and that the mag cap is tight against the barrel band and not loosening under recoil.

Dismantle and clean, reassemble tight as others have said. My Grizzly was fine out of the box but my 870 express eventually developed an extraction problem. The chamber was polished nicely from the factory but some swarf from the manufacturing worked its way between the extractor plug and the extractor that was preventing it from grabbing the shell. Make sure there is nothing hung up in the trigger group
