Hello, I have recently ordered my first AR-15 however I shoot as a lefty. I've got everything else covered but cannot find a troy ambi mag release in stock anywhere. Have any of you seen one on a sponsor sight or perhaps a local gun store?

Thanks,
Ryan

I use both as a lefty. I like the Troy better for 2 reasons.....more solid platform, and the forward location works better for longer length of finger. Although the KAC is a great alternative, it is a little floppy up and down, and the short distance from trigger is a little to short for my finger length. For a lady with a shorter finger length the Knights ambi release unit might be okay.

Knights Armament from OneShot Tactical.
Troy from CTCS.

I'd say the KAC is clumsy compared to the TROY.

Lol. Yeah, 'clumsy' is the first word that comes to mind when it comes to Knight's Armament stuff...

If there is slop in it, you've probably not installed it correctly.

For a lady with a shorter finger length the Knights ambi release unit might be okay.

Lol. Nice underhanded complement...
Anyhow, I have size 13 hands (men's large gloves) and have no issue with the KAC ambi mag release.

The cantilever design means the KAC will work -the Troy isn't so forgiving IMHO, and experience.
If you enjoy fiddle-phucking your mag release under pressure, the Troy is a great design.

I am a lefty but I have not used any of these products yet.
In my hunt for the perfect left side mag release these have been considered and the S&J was at the top of my list as it is Canadian made BUT it looks clumsy in the opposite manner of the KAC. It puts the mag release to far from the trigger finger. It would work good if you have giant hands and/or long fingers or as a righty wanting to reach around with the support hand.
I think that the Troy design is the best as it puts the release in about the same position as the stock release. Just my two cents.

One word. Norgon.

Going with this as well. Is what's on mine.

After looking at all the options, the Norgon puts it directly in line with the factory mag release, it doesn't stick out unnecessarily, and it's the only one that doesn't have a bunch of little teeny roll pins. The main shaft pin is locked in place with the mag release cutout, and the spring that holds it in the locked position is nice and stiff, so no wobble.

After reading some of the comments, I took a look at the Troy ambi mag release on 'her' AR 15 and as a righty, I find it easier to operate than I do the right hand button as it has more surface area.
However, I do find the smaller safety lever on the left side to be a bit of a pain. I'd like both levers to be the same size.

My concern with the Norgon mag release is that i've heard it is more difficult to manipulate if there is a BAD lever installed. Can anyone confirm?

Ya, I have the norgon on my AR. I tried to put the bad lever on it and it really did not work. I ended up giving the bad lever to a buddy of mine. I'm looking at the DPMS tactical bolt release instead of the bad lever for an ambi option bolt release lever. It looks like it would work very well with most of the ambi mag releases available now. Anyone else use the DPMS tactical bolt release?
