Troy MCS vs Sage

Trying to decide which one to go with. I've read good things about both chassis systems.
Any thoughts?

I have read good things about both as well, however, I think the troy mcs is one of the ugliest stocks I have seen for the m14 platform. I went with the sage. Can't wait for it to get here. Lol

Depends, do you have a M4 stock and grip for the Troy? If not the price is comparable. If you have the parts the Troy is the cheaper alternative. Sage EBR looks better and comes with stock and grip. To me the Troy looks like a cheap shell over the rifle. Not sure of the weight difference between the two but that could be a deciding factor.

If it helps I am building my first rifle, a m305s in a Sage Ebr stock and there was never a second thought of using any other chassis.

Troy has the ability to mount a scope and whatever grip/stock that you want at no extra cost , if I had the Troy I would put just a normal ar10 break and do away with the front sight this is the down side however it forces you to have a short sight radius ,also it is on the beastly side of heavy but sounds like the weight in not a factor when considering the two heavy chassis im guessing it will be shot prone and or from a bench

I've thought about this one a bit, so I could refine my comments to a few points to consider, as a civillian user of the sage or troy.

1st , ease of install, removal of chassis... Hands down, Sage , without question.

Overall cost to accessorize, again, sage, hands down.

Machining and fitment.... It's a dead even tie.

Average affect on performance/accuracy.... Again, I'm leaning to the sage.

Cost, I think they are is similar ballpark but sage comes with grip and built in buttstock assembly.

It's tough to decide, but , looking at it soley from a civillian user standpoint.... Like other aluminum chassis not being used in a battle field, it's what the end user feels looks best when he's standin in front of the mirror ;)

I like BOTH the sage and troy and have built on dozens and owned several of both, including 2 of the original sage navy ebr stocks of which only 11 where rumoured to have reached civillian hands... 2 made it north of 49. I'd pay some sweet coing for one of those right now ;)

My civilian perspective:
Both the SAGE EBR and the TROY MCS chassis systems are very nice.

The SAGE EBR benefits from 12+ years of military testing, after action reports and feedback.
The current EBR chassis is lighter, more flexible and the M14 DCSB from SAGE is a great addition.

The TROY MCS tends to be a bit heavier than the SAGE and it's use of the original op rod
guide makes it a little tougher to attain and hold the accuracy you get from the SAGE system.

I worked on a prototype of the MCS with Steve Troy and owned/used a few TROY stocks, but sold them.
I have owned/used just about every variant of the EBR except the Heavy barrel version, but I have handled it.

I have been thinning the heard and my collection consists of just two modern M14 aluminum chassis stock systems.
