Hey guys I have a Troy PAR 223 that ran fine for the first 3 hundreds rounds, but now I been having a strange issue.

When I try to chamber a round, if I use even slightly too much force it seems like the bolt/bolt carrier becomes detached from the pump handle, cause a round to be only chambered half way.

Anyone has a fix for this? Perhaps I need a new detent spring for where the pump handle connects to the holt carrier bar ? ( the little hole you push in with a pin to detach the pump handle from the bolt carrier when you disassemble?)

Remove the bolt and operating rod and then disconnect the rod from the bolt and check the rod for any cracks or deformation.

If your the original buyer and have a receipt you should contact Troy and ask about their lifetime warranty.
The first gen PAR's had issues with the pump action rod detaching from the bolt but it was supposed to be corrected when they changed from the railed fore grip to the plastic one.

“Supposed to be corrected”

I’ve been waiting 11 months for a replacement rod for a gen 2 .308 PAR.

I had a feeling that the issue might not have been completely resolved..... Who are you dealing with in Canada for warranty parts?

Hopefully you get something sooner rather then later!

I had a thread about my warranty situation.

AmChar Canada deals with warranty/distribution, they are easy to get a hold of and respond quickly but the issue is getting the parts in to Canada. Last time I called them right before Christmas, they told me that there would be a Troy shipment arriving in a few weeks and I haven’t heard from them since and nobody has announced a restock or Troy rifles so I’m guessing it somehow got delayed.

If OP does need a new rod for their .223 then they should be readily available as I was initially send one for my .308 and was told there were several of them on the shelf.

Thanks and good luck!

edit, just read the old thread.... did you ever try to get the op rod welded?

Hopefully AmChar brings in a bunch of spares!
