Hey all,
I recently acquired a Troy PAR in .308 and fully intend to make it my hunting rifle for the upcoming deer season in Ontario (Ottawa Valley Area) this year, I have a couple of 10 round pistol mags for it and was curious if these mags were legal to hunt with? Considering that the .303 comes standard with 10 round mags it would be reasonable to assume that the 10 rounders for a pump rifle would be as well. However we know this country is full of rules that are not rational and full of caveats so I figure I would ask the question here.
Understanding that these mags are technically made for a previously restricted (now prohibited) platform and are considered to be a pistol magazine would there be restrictions for hunting with these? Would I need to use a pinned 5 round magazine or because it is a manually operated firearm would 10 rounds be acceptable?
You can see the mental gymnastics I am going through to figure this out.
looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
